Tyler Technologies, Inc. has entered into a contract with Jackson Public Schools (JPS) in Mississippi to implement its Enterprise ERP solution. This comprehensive system will include modules for financial management, payroll, human resources, time and attendance, asset maintenance and performance, and content management, all powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Earl Burke, the Chief Finance and Operations Officer of JPS, expressed enthusiasm for the technology upgrade, noting its alignment with the district’s goal of providing top-tier educational experiences. The new ERP system is expected to streamline operations, allowing staff to dedicate more time to student services and educational quality.
JPS sought an integrated ERP system to enhance functionality and accessibility for vendors and employees within a cloud-based framework. Tyler Technologies emerged as the preferred vendor, offering a complete solution that meets JPS’s needs, including advanced reporting features. This integration will facilitate seamless coordination across various administrative functions, reducing redundancy and improving data flow.
The adoption of Tyler’s Enterprise ERP solution is anticipated to dissolve data silos within departments, refine operational workflows, and eliminate repetitive data entry tasks. The financial management component of the system will support comprehensive accounting, budgeting, and project tracking. Additionally, the HR management tool will streamline the management of employee data, recruitment, development, and performance evaluation processes. Opting for a cloud-based deployment, JPS will gain a secure, scalable, and consistently updated ERP infrastructure.
Chris Webster, president of Tyler’s ERP & Civic Division, highlighted the solution’s capacity to enhance financial and personnel management within educational institutions through precise, transparent, and efficient processes. Tyler Technologies is committed to assisting JPS in optimizing their administrative operations.
Serving as Mississippi’s third-largest school district, JPS caters to 18,000 students and represents a significant portion of the school-aged population in the state’s capital. This partnership with Tyler Technologies marks a significant step towards modernizing and improving the district’s operational capabilities.
