Siemens unveils new package for advanced motion control in Engineering Framework

Siemens introduced a comprehensive solution for motion control applications, combining the Simatic Advanced Controller and the Sinamics servo drive system. The Simatic S7-1500 T-CPU controller, integrated into the TIA Portal V14, handles control tasks. The Sinamics V90 servo drive system with Profinet ensures speed and precision in the machine. This package allows Simatic users to address advanced motion control tasks in a familiar environment. The S7-1500 T-CPU also supports safety applications, consolidating standard, safety, and motion control tasks into one controller.

The TIA Portal V14 assists users in engineering motion control tasks like electronic gear and camming. The integrated Cam Editor simplifies configuration and optimization of transmission ratios between axes, allowing adjustments even while the machine operates.

The Sinamics V90 servo drive system, now available with Profinet, offers performance-optimized and user-friendly features. It includes a servo drive and a servomotor with a new incremental encoder. Various inverter sizes and motor shaft heights cater to diverse applications, emphasizing dynamic motion and processing tasks.
